Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 3, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how darrellbest.com ("the Site") handles information. The short version: the Site collects minimal data and does not sell or share personal information with third parties.

2. Information Collected

The Site does not require registration or collect personal information directly. The following data may be collected automatically:

  • Analytics: Cloudflare provides basic traffic analytics (page views, visitor counts, country of origin). This data is aggregated and not personally identifiable.
  • Server Logs: GitHub Pages (the hosting provider) may collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited.

3. Cookies

The Site itself does not set cookies. Third-party services embedded on the Site (such as Cloudflare or affiliate tracking) may set their own cookies. Refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

4. Affiliate Links

The Site contains affiliate links (such as NordVPN). When you click these links, the affiliate partner may collect information about your visit for the purpose of tracking conversions. The Site does not have access to this data beyond aggregate conversion counts.

5. Third-Party OAuth (X/Twitter)

The Site author uses an X (Twitter) application to post content. If you authorize this application, it will access your X account only for the permissions you grant during authorization (such as posting tweets). The application:

  • Does not store your X credentials
  • Does not access your direct messages unless explicitly authorized
  • Does not sell or share your data
  • Uses OAuth 2.0 tokens which you can revoke at any time from your X account settings

6. Email

If the X application requests email access, your email address is used solely to identify your account during authorization. It is not stored, shared, or used for marketing.

7. Data Retention

The Site does not maintain a database of user information. Cloudflare analytics data is retained per Cloudflare's policies. OAuth tokens are stored securely on the author's machine and are not shared.

8. Your Rights

You can revoke any OAuth application access from your X account settings at any time. Since the Site does not collect personal data directly, there is no user data to request deletion of.

9. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes

This policy may be updated at any time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.

11. Contact

For privacy questions, reach out via the contact information on the Site.
