FAQ

How do I buy the game or DLC?

Aeon Ascendant and its cosmetic DLC (Founder Pack, Super Founder Pack, Buy Kanna a Coffee) are sold only through Steam. Purchases, refunds, and regional pricing are handled by Valve under Steam’s refund policy (opens in a new tab).

I bought DLC but the cosmetics did not unlock

  1. Restart Steam and the game.
  2. In Steam → Library → Aeon Ascendant → Properties → DLC, confirm the pack is listed and installed.
  3. Make sure you are signed into the Steam account that owns the DLC.
  4. If it still fails, contact us with the DLC name and roughly when you purchased it.

DLC is cosmetic only. It does not grant Prisms, power, or gameplay advantage.

Steam Cloud is not syncing my save

Cloud syncs the game’s save.json through Steam Auto-Cloud.

  1. Steam → Settings → Cloud: confirm Steam Cloud is enabled.
  2. Library → Aeon Ascendant → Properties → General: confirm Cloud is enabled for this game.
  3. Fully quit the game (not just minimized), wait for Steam’s Cloud sync icon to finish, then launch on the other machine.
  4. Avoid running two instances that both write the save at once; the newer upload can overwrite the older one.

An achievement did not unlock

Most achievements unlock only when their in-game conditions are met on a connected Steam session. If one seems stuck:

  1. Make sure you are online on Steam when you complete the condition.
  2. Restart the game once after the unlock condition.
  3. Tell us which achievement and what you had just done.

Leaderboards show the wrong score or name

Leaderboards use Steam. Your public Steam persona (name and avatar) follows your Steam privacy settings. If a score looks wrong after a patch or after playing offline, note the board name and approximate score when you write in.

Does the game work on Steam Deck / with a controller?

The Steam edition is built with full controller support and is intended for Steam Deck play. “Steam Deck Verified” is Valve’s badge; until Valve awards it, treat Deck as supported but not officially Verified.

Is there ads, energy timers, or in-game purchases?

No. The Steam edition is premium: one purchase for the base game, optional cosmetic DLC only. No ads, no loot boxes, no energy timers, and no real-money shop inside the game. Prisms are earned by playing.

What is Arena, and what data does it use?

Arena is an optional online mode. When you use it, the game proves your Steam identity to the Arena server with a short-lived Steam auth ticket and may check DLC ownership so cosmetics display correctly. Arena standings are stored on the developer’s Arena server. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Can I play without Steam Cloud or Arena?

Yes. Cloud can be disabled in Steam’s settings for the game. Arena is optional; if you never open it, the Arena server is not used.
